Electic Shower

Installed a new shower and have the power light on the shower lit but when i switch it on i lose power.

Check your connections at shower and isolator. It's possibly a bad connection or a cable not stripped back properly and tightened down onto the insulation. Have you tested the circuit R1 + R2 etc?

Does your shower have a safety switch built in where if the water pressure is not correct it wont work.

Is it the RCD tripping or the MCB?

yes it does but the water pressure is ok as i done a straight swop of showers as the other developed a fault

neither are tripping i just lose the voltage RCD and MCD are perfect so annoying

Have you gone through the complete commissioning process including removing the purging pin on the circuit board?

If RCD/MCB is ok water pressure is ok connections ok only thing really to do is get an electrician in to test properly it may be that the fault with the old shower wasnt a fault at all but you may have problems elsewhere that is causing both showers to misbehave.

it has no mention of purging pin what is ths?

Is it a remote unit with a digital control?

the shower is a zante 3 8.5kw made by Triton nothing fancy as they say

What would you say the problem might be as i haver power to the switch??

The purge pin is only on their digital remote triton showers sorry . It may be a water pressure problem. If in doubt call in someone or call triton and ask their technical department.

Thanks for you assistance i did call trition and they asked me to check the voltage, did not seem to helpful not sure if it is water pressure as the presure light is not on

Can't remember wether it's Triton or Mira but they have a warranty service I think.

Triton do have warranty as i only brought it on Saturday but if its not a fault with the shower then it would be a chargeable call

Did they let you know what the call out fee is? it may be more cost effective to get someone in to confirm it's the shower then call triton in for free?

I had this on a shower the over week, it turned out to be a dodgy pull cord. check the voltage on the incoming and outgoing side of the pull cord and that will show you mate.

I would say check the connections at the isolator, in case the supply and load are not the right way round or supply live in correctly, but neutral supply in the load side ????
