Don't mind me while I bump some old threads. Just doing the rounds. Ignore the thread if it's not current topic, it'll soon drop off the list, but if the thread interests you, feel free to reply. :)

Avoid Rointe at all costs. Not only because their claims are based on pseudo-science, but also because they are untrustworthy as a company. What I mean by this is that they can offer x years guarantee/warranty, but if the company goes ---- up, the wartranty is worth squat.
Last time I checked (2 years ago), this company was NOT looking healthy.

Interested to know how efficient a 'very efficient' electric heater is...when your burning gas to produce it.

Yeah, Rointe got a slap from the advertising standards agencyna while back. Love their gumph about using 'fuzzy logic' technology... What the duck is that all aboot!! Laws of thermodynamics remain laws of thermodynamics with or without fuzzy bloody logic..

I blame Rointe for generally pushing up the prices of half decent looking electric rads across the board. I am certain there used to be much cheaper rads that didn't look like a cold war relic available out there.

Is that different from any other company? Recently had this problem with Immersun! God knows how many issues with Solar installers!

You are quite right, mate. There are a fair few companies which are on shakey ground. That's why you have to do your due dilligence and find our if they are going to be able to honor their warrtanty. IRointe were listed a couple of years ago in that London paper that lists bankrupts and companies with hearings with Her Majesty´s representatives about taxation etc. I think they have lost what little market share they had, so I can't see them being overly solid. Then again, I could be wrong. Maybe the sales of electric heaters in southern Spain is surprisingly high and lucrative. Haha
