Extra qualifications after a HNC for installation work

Ive completed a HNC in electrical engineering, and was working in an industrial environment. Ive now gone for a job that is predominantly installation based.

What extra qualifications do i need?

Doing the work. I know I'll need to do a 17th edition course, but i'm not sure after that

Sometimes tony, the money is better. I work for a large engineering company, and the particular contract I'm on is with a water company. I get paid more than their electricians, some of whom have HNC's ect, and who know their systems inside out, across tens of sites.

I left to go travelling. The only work i've been offered since coming back is installations, but i'm not sure what extra i'll need to do qualification wise

Just anything working up to a HNC, so NVQ 2 & 3. I haven't done 17th edition yet

No disrespect to yourself johnboy, but that Just goes to show the degree miss-management that goes on in these privatised water companies!!! Taking your observation at face value, it certainly makes no commercial sense whatsoever!!!

If it was me I'd do 17th update.
2391 if you can or 2394 and 2395 if you have too

I agree eng54. It makes no sense. We carry out installation works on their premises so it's not the same job, but I definately think they are underpaid. But there again I think I'm underpaid!
