Just connected a 10 amp single phase supply to a gate barrier installed by specialised company.
Main concern is what the main bonding should be if any to the metal gate barrier.
Questioned the installers but they didn’t give any feedback, they just said it’s earthed.
The Swa goes into a rotary isolater a flex supplies a control unit mainly ELV, they also have a 230v motor bolted to the framework flexed once again, would of thought a supplementary MPEB cable would of been required.
Its a TNCS supply to the unit, anyone had any experience of these install’s.

Ir test it and decide yourself

All I can remember of the barrier we fitted at the caravan park was the access door to the controls had a 4mm link to the main body, then onto cpc of supply.

aluminium bar that raised up, was just bolted to the spindle, gearbox, then to the motor.

I don’t suppose you can earth parts that move.

This is a gate barrier that slides along to open...the cabinet contains all the control’s & all metallic.

We’ve only connected @ the TPN DB, asked the questions but no answers given by the installers.

Gate installers problem IMO you supplied a feed to the isolator gate installers did the rest down to them to test and certify their installation

Cheers just makes me wonder if it required MPEB.
I’ve actually energised the cable,& tested @ the isolater.

Im ringing the police, cause you didnt do all steps of safe isolation

If the gate moves on rollers, driven by rack and pinion, how would you bond it?

Ha ha it’s a complete unit with a control cabinet the gate moves without taking the cabinet with it.

It’s quite a simple question does this system need bonding with the correct sizing of the protective bonding conductor.
This is part of the install motor @230v

Other than the electrical supply were you asked to provide one.
If the gate installer can't give you answers then call the manufacturers of the gate equipment and ask them, posting a picture of a motor and suggesting it's a simple question that can be answered from afar is not going to achieve a definitive answer

Bit more detail..
