Im Keiran!

Been working full time for just under a year, been working on houses, shops, warehouses so gained a decent variety of knowledge.

I was midway through a homestudy course with trade qualified who have gone bust.... awsome! :icon13: all paid, all lost, so starting from fresh (currently trying to find out what quals i have with c&g but its like getting blood from a stone!) :nopity:

more to the point, i wanna cut out the middle man and go directly to the test centres, i would like to know what i need to get to the 2391 exam
(ive used the search tool but i find it hard to decipher what is relevent and which has past its used by date)

from what ive gatthered i need

17th edition
Part P
Initial Verification and testing
Pat testing?

I dont know for certain what i need so if any of you can set somthing in stone and point me in the right direction that will be grand and ill be able to go find the rest out myself! :dizzy2:

Hi welcome to the forum.

Have a search for threads on training courses and you may find your answers.

Note that the 2391 has now been replaced with 2394 initial verification and 2395 periodic inspection.
Normally you should be experienced in electrical installations/inspections to be suitable to take these exams and there is a very low pass rate.
If you look on the city and guilds website at the documents for these exams they tell you the recommended requirements for taking the exam (although some training centers may have different standards).

You would not need to have done a "PAT testing" exam or a "Part P exam" to take either the 2394 or 2395.
Though it may be that you would need to have passed the 2382 (17th ed amd 1)
