Hi everyone,
Its time to log in and say hi before Tom suspects me of being a spam bot!!
My name is Tony, I have been a member here for a while and I tend to use the forum for reference when Im stuck.
I am qualified up to 2391 and have held both QS and QM positions throughout my career as a sparky.
I ran my own business for over ten years and only came off the tools when I closed my business at the start of the recession and when I had a complete change of personal life.
I am a father to 6 and a grandad to two. When I closed my business I went into site supervision, looking after large decent homes contracts in North London. During this time I developed a brain tumour and was very ill. The tumour was removed in 2008, 3 days after my baby girl was born. The recovery was very long, and tbh Im still not completely over it.
I was made redundant in 2008, not long after I had returned to work. The entire Southern devision of my company closed. I was devastated and extremely worried about work. I signed on to a few agencies and was offered a few days teaching electrical here and there. That was a career changing moment. I have now been teaching electrical up to level 3 since. I will be training for my PV course in a couple of weeks and I start the second part of my teaching degree tomorrow night. Phew.
