Hi all, I’m new to this page but we have been working on a landlords rewire installation with a main MCCB panel in the basement a further six other MCCB panels located on different floors in a multi occupancy business centre. We are installing individual mains boards in each independent unit however during visual Inspections we have noticed some code 2 and a few code 1 failures within the individual units (visual only no full test has been carried out)

When we switch over purely the supply to the each unit who becomes responsible for the installation in the unit?

We are an NIC approved company and the tech support have told me we are doing nothing wrong with changing over but to document on the cert that it’s faults have been noticed.

however the subcontractors on site are saying they are not prepared to change over supplies as they believe responsibility may fall back on them.

I fully understand it’s not an everyday question but would appreciate any help regarding the switch over.

Not sure if I have read this correctly, but if I have , then no, you cannot replace DB's supplying installations with cat 1 and 2 obs on them and just issue an EIC noting it. Also, what are the observations out of interest? A Cat 1 is an immediate danger such as exposed live parts.....what have they found?
