Sham, if you change the boards, I would be interested in these for the museum. They are Federal, rebadged by ECC (Electric Construction Co.) back in the day that UK switchgear makers were cloning or importing US gear. We have a lot of ECC plant but none of their boards. They were one of the four main UK makers of mercury arc rectifiers.
I used to have quite an impressive stock of both these and Dorman smith stuff and bits of the boards. I never even thought that anyone would be interested in them and chucked them 2 years ago when we moved house. I would have gladly given them away for free.

After reading all this, should i not change the board If the customer does not want a rewire. And write in my cert why. Departures.
Personally I wouldn’t be installing anything new without at best a full rewire or at worst a new board and bonding upgrade but that’s your call how you play it

Your EICR should note all this and in this type of situation you need to pull the place apart to such an extent the only solution to resolve it is to rewire as necessary.

So really I should not stress, just give him my findings on cert, recommend rewire and leave. C2 unsatisfactory. Shall I call my scheme provider see what they say ?

No use your own judgement.

Have you not something less 'stressful' to do? You are not in the game to do anyone any favours, but to carry out a business. So in a weeks time, months time, years time etc after you've installed your new CU for them, ---- happens, own us is on you. Happy days.
