Evening, could anyone explain the best way to light the underneath of a worktop for my utility at home? J handled doors with no handles so I was hoping to illuminate under the worktop downwards. I'm on a job and have seen some ply planted on top to create the depth for the channel to screw to them the worktop on top. I've also been told about routing into the worktop itself, any pointers? Light recommendations wouldn't go amiss by anyone what has installed a similar setup. Cheers

I'm left slightly confused by the post, usually people want to illuminate the "top" of a worktop, rather than "underneath" it which is usually cupboards, which is what the post appears to be asking?

A photo of the area where you intend to install the lighting would be great.... So we can understand more...

I'm confused as well. It sounds like you are wanting to put LEDs under the lip of the worktop to illuminate the drawer fronts?

Router a chanel and install LED strip lights.
Did this on a job recently, I fitted the strip anyway. As mentioned routed a groove on the underside but the worktop needs to be deeper front to back to accommodate it. Is ok corners are a nightmare tho and personally I wouldn't do it in my own kitchen though it did look nice.

PS That's what I got when I searched SWD>---->fetish. Think you're the one on the left, hang on, perhaps not. ;)

The leds are visible in a pic but not really to the naked eye it's strange how the photo turns out.
That would irritate me if it was visible to the naked eye, must look nice in the evening with the low level lighting.

Yes you can't see it, does look quite nice for an ambient light in the evening. As it worked out there was some spare strip which I took down through the corner cupboards so they are lit up inside as well. Looks nice, when looking at the job I said I didn't really want to put the lights underneath the lip like that but they did look nice when done.
