Should the LED be lit permanently or only when solar energy is being produced by the panels?

Any of them really, system fitted today but too late to check all was working and now notice there are no lights on at all at the moment. I was wondering if one of the lights stayed on in a standby mode.

If there is a little light then the green led will blink as it tries to fire. If it is too dark then you will get no life from the inverter at all - an all too common problem at this time of the year.
