Hi guys, hope all is well.

Getting hallway and stairs replastered/skimmed, do the light switches/light fittings need removing altogether for it to be replastered or is it a case of simply just unscrewing the fronts?

I know they might be silly question to some but just want to make sure.

Thank you

all depends on your plasterer. usually the switches & sockets can be pulled forward (depends on the cable slack) enough to plaster around, there are magic things called yoozy boxes that can be fitted enabling the muck spreader to make a neat job without the usual trick of gumming up the accessory with said muck. They are reusable so you can do a couple of rooms at a time.

Thank you for the reply, much appreciated.
What I forgot to add btw is that I've been told that the ceiling needs overboarding due to damage when the loft was getting insulated, there is a light fitting at the top of stairs near where the damage is, do you know what would entail wiring wise regarding this?

Take it off, pull the cables through the new board and refit light once plastered.
