Need help! ECS, CSCS whaaaaat?

I started my first job this month as an Electrician's Mate and as I was going through my induction I was asked for my CSCS card, which I don't have. The guy knew I am a mate/trainee and everyone know's my foreman.
Anyway I am confused as to what I have to apply for. I e-mailed a site that does CSCS but they told me to apply for ECS but it says I need a few qualifications to apply? But I am only in my second year at college studying C&G 2365.

Can anyone help me please?

an ecs is an electrical version of the cscs.

first you need to book the cscs health and safety course or you employer can book it for you, he will know where to book it because it only lasts 5 years (i think)

then you need to send off for the ecs trainee stage 1 card

You can get an ECS labourer's card with no electrical qualifications.
The test is pretty much the same as the CSCS test but it has a few electrical questions in it.

cscs labourer will get you on almost any site. bother with another ones only when someone asks especially for them...
