Welcome to the forum Chris, try whatever way you can to get a bit of practical experience, it's invaluable.

welcome along!!

NVQ would have been your next step but you have 2 days to enroll on it before it finishes!

get some site experience and register with a art P scheme operator! Nic, ECA, Napit!!! recomend ECA (elecsa) or Napit personally as i cant stand the NICEIC!

welcome to the forum mate shame you cant really sighn for your 2356 anymore, dont really understand what you mean by could work self employed due to health and saftey reasons(im guessing it was couldn't) took me 5 mins to register self employed and they didnt ask about my health : / .
i think it will be hard for you to get on site experience unless you know people already in the trade.
my advise would be stick to the day job until you find someone to take you on meanwhile why not if possible put some wooden boards up somewhere and try wiring different circuits im sure if you get into anytrouble you could just post pics on the forum and ull get loads of feedback,
best of luck to you

Hi guys. I'm just wondering if anybody know what grade I would get if I applied for a jib card. I have 10 years experience as a mate and was told that I didn't have to do my 2330 2&3 because of my experience. However, I do have nvq 3 and 17th edition but don't know if this would satisfy the jib????
