I’ve got my First Nic assessment coming up, the installation I’m proposing is an outside socket radial on 20 amp breaker and an outside light, my worry is the c/u is a plastic Crabtree about 10 yrs old, will this be ok ?

If you are extending a lighting circuit it will require additional rcd protection. As for the plastic consumer unit as long as it is safe for continued use don't worry about it.

Are they doing site visits again.? Had my assessment via FaceTime and pinged all the docs over to the assessor a couple of days prior.

I’m not extending a lighting circuit, I’ve run a new one in, it was the board and breakers I was worried about not meeting Bs7671

im waiting to hear from them, but what do you think about the c/u ?

If the consumer unit is safe for continued use it is not an issue. Both new circuits will require additional rcd protection.

As long as you can confidently justify your decisions and reference the regulations where relevant then it will be OK.

If you cannot support your decisions or appear to be unsure and not know what you are doing then, whatever type of CU is fitted you won't do well.
