Went to look at a job today, place is about 30years old and has Wylex rewirable fuse board (timber one at that), 16mm tails on a 60A fuse, 16mm main earth (on PME) and 10mm water bond. At some point over the years a oil fired boiler has been added to the central heating to go with the solid fuel stove that's in the front room. Oil tank is in the back garden and the boiler is in the garage. The garage however is not accessible through the house and instead has to be entered from either the front drive or back garden. Is the garage therefore classed as being outside of the equipotential zone? Reason for asking is due to the lack of bonding to the oil pipe, is there none because it's not required (due to being outside the equipotential zone) or because of laziness?

is the inter connecting pipe works entering the house at any point on the system..!!!!

if yes then bond is a must!

Is this oil line likely to introduce an earth potential to the building i.e extraneous conductive part???

If the garage is using the TNCS earthing the equipotential zone includes the garage, and main bonding has to meet the requirements for a TNCS system.
