[h=1]this is from the city & guild web site. does this clairify that a level 3 qualification is equivalent to nvq 3 eg. 2360 part 2 is equal to a nvq 3 which will be required for a QS part P from jan 2012.

Steady son, Jason will be thinking oh nooo not another thread on this lol.
Seriously though its all up in the air at the moment. i spoke to the NICEIC and was told they are still finalizing exactly what the NVQ3 equivelants are going to be. 236 part 2 is up for the list along with jib gradings and the 2391 at level 3. we all just have to wait and see, anything else is pure speculation as Jason has already said on another thread which took up 16 pages.

Yes Spin, 17th edition was also mentioned as a string to the NVQ3 bow. as are leval 3 courses.

That qualification comparison is gobbledygook to me, As a City & Guild publication to give certificate holders clear information of there worth, this table is abysmal!! Perhaps whoever is responsible for this table, needs a few lessons in clear and plain English at the very least!!!.


Then again, if the information is also incorrect!!!........

My C&G electrical technicians was issued by the Union of Lancashire and Cheshire Institutes many years ago. I wonder what NVQ level that works out as?

My point is, that they are both level 3 and according to the chart, equivelent to an NVQ3, Diploma and an 'A' level.

So it looks like anything level 3 is an NVQ3 equivelant ie 16th edition courses 17th edition courses 2391 level 3 ect. (Well thats how I would read it)

No it means it can be put forward as part of the portfolio towards an NVQ3 ie maybe 2391, 2382, some electrical theory modules and a log book demonstrating vocational competence and a blob sheet highlghting specific areas competencies achieved.
