Do any of you legends know if the new type of Contactum RCBO will fit this board as a direct replacement?

Thanks in advance

This old thread suggest Defender range isn't compatible, but that Contactum manufactured busbar adapters which they subsequently weren't sure were a great idea.

Probably best to wait for Westward 😄

I’ve fitted a few of the new Defender 2 boards recently, it’s a shame I don’t have a spare RCBO in the back of the van.

I could have test fitted it myself and saved the embarrassment of asking another “what’s compatible question” yet again…😂

I'm touched by your confidence in me but Contactum isn't something I know too much about. The fact the new rcbos and mcbs have a curved front as opposed to the flat fronted ones you show suggests they are different but not necessarily incompatible so you may have to contact Contactum.

Thanks Westy, I thought I’d hang on and wait for your reply as you’re normally the “font of all knowledge”, when it comes to CU’s and what’s compatible.

I emailed customer services earlier as suggested by @i=p/u

I’ll share my findings, when (if) they get back to me.

Have a good weekend all. 😎🍺👍

As promised, here’s the reply I received from Alan at Contactum this morning.

Hello James. Thanks for contacting us.

Unfortunately these devices were made obsolete in July 2008 and as such are no-longer available. Our current devices are not designed for use within the old generation of consumer units and will not physically fit. Your only real option here is to consider upgrading your consumer unit to a modern equivalent in line with the requirements of the current wiring regulations BS7671. I have attached our latest brochures to this email for your reference.

Looks like I’m quoting for a board upgrade.

Thanks for everyone’s input and help. 😎👍
