stranded

Evening all.

Got up one weekday i was off and tv was on bbc 1. Homes under the hammer was on, dont actually watch this program really, but this caught my eye!

Plug socket spured off a plug, plugged into the extention cord attatched to the wall with wood? Good god....

The question is though, which way is the electricity flowing?

Its being fed from the single socket. The socket switch is in the open position and the LED on the extension is off. Although thats only going be the picture. Plug in a socket and see tester, turn off the power, test for dead and RIP THE BLOODY THING OUT.
 
The socket switch is irrelevant - if the black flex is in the terminals with some live T+E the switch will not affect it. But I bet there is a white flex going into the bottom of the 4-way strip which is where the power comes from, and the only conductors in the single socket terminals are those of the black flex. Quite what the point is of a plug feeding a single socket I couldn't say!

I think there was white flex actuallx, so you may be right!
