hi all,

doing a consumer unit change in a small shop only has 4 circuits. did a PIR first, all circuits are good.

problem is that I cant find a small consumer unit that is dual rcd. I understand the whole installation can not be protected by one RCD. Is RCBOs the only solution? It boosts the material cost from £60 to £120ish.

any advice would be great.

thanks

I agree, RCBOs are the way to go.
I know a lot of the leading brands are abou £30 per RCBO, but there are a lot of cheaper alternatives.
I suppose it depends what wholesaler you use.
I pay £10 per RCBO, I would prefer to use merlin or mk, but would never get any work, and at the end of the day they pass british and EU standards. (it all depends on the customer).
