SWA Sub main in concrete floor?

Is there any special requirements for running a 16mm swa sub main in a concrete floor?What i mean is on the floor prior to laying the concrete
Any info would be appreciated

Id check the concrete data for chemicals likley to effect the swa outer covering And that the concrete slab structure wouldnt be effected by having a duct in it

It is always a better installation, to run any cable run within concrete in a suitably sized duct. Preferably where possible using slow or fabricating slow angles and bends.

It is highly unlikely that any concrete mix will have a chemical make-up that will detrimentally affect the sheath of a SWA cable

I would prefer to use a suitable duct ,but will probably not have the time(very short notice ie floor being laid tomorrow) unless there is a specific requirement to protect the cable.

is this domestic or industrial, is anything lightly to be bolted to the floor at a later date?

make sure its over 2" down and make a note on the IEC,

Think you'll find that the standard float depth is equivalent to 4'' .....well it used to be anyway!! lol!!!

After 24 years of making cement I’ll say there’s nothing in it to harm the outer serving. BUT and it’s a big BUT, if the serving is damaged the sulphides in the concrete will attack the armouring. They will be rotted away in no time! Another problem I’ve come across is the slab cracking and the serving then being split. Run ducting if you can.
