Hi guys. Quick question for yous that I am having trouble getting an answer to. I am currently an apprentice maintenance electrician. I have been working now for 3 months and in the factory that I am working you are thrown in at the deep end so I am becoming multi-skilled fast. I was at college for 2 years and gained an svq level 2, NC, HNC and advanced certificate in electrical engineering. I much more prefer domestic electrical work and would much prefer to go into that side of things. I am wondering what are the requirements to sit your domestic trade test?? I was told that you do not need to complete an apprenticeship to sit it. If I could go and do my domestic trade test without having to pass my maintenance apprenticeship this would be great. but is this true??? I am currently studying for my wiring regulations and inspection and testing qualifications. Do any of them help my plans??? Can someone please help I cant seem to find anyone with the correct answer. Thanks Guys
