Hi Guys,

I heard that Smart Meters will be installed in our county, but I also heard that these meters will affect pacemakers. Any truth to that? If anyone having any suggestions regarding this, please share. I did not get any suggestion from my search so I think you will help me in this discussion forum.

Thank You
Steven Brooks

To be honest Steve if mobile phones, wireless internet, blue tooth this and that have not had that much affect on pace makers pretty sure smart meters will be the same.

Given that the intention is to put one in every home, I'm sure this is something that will have been taken into consideration.

That'll be from the same source that said the Millenium bug will cause washing machines, microwaves, toasters etc to stop working..

Smart meters are already rolled out extensively in the US and the EU so I'm sure you'll find studies on their health implications if you search on Google.

I personally would be more worried about the privacy implications.

It's a conspiracy, they're all set to switch off on 6/6/06 so they can take over

Sorry I mean 21/12/12

trust me on this....we dont want `smart meters` over here.....all they are about is spying......the uninvited, hidden spy within the home....look at the TV add`s rolled out by british gas....with the magnifying glass panning over `your world`......theres real truth in it folks......mark my words...:detective:

I had a pacemaker fit 2 year ago and they scared the sX!X out of me with electromagnetic fields etc and avoiding them.
I had been back at work a week and walking on broken eggshells( if you get my drift) when I realised I had just spent the last half hour holding brackets in place while they were welded to a girder !!
Neva felt a thing lol

I have no problem with large organisations having data to improve their services. As long as I know it's secure and how they will use it.
Google and supermarkets (loyalty card data) to name just 2 examples of organisations having masses of personal data.
I still use google and still have loyalty cards but it's important to know what information they have and how they can/ will use it in order to make an informed decision about the services they provide.

*steps off soapbox*
