If I was the inspector When filling the Electrical installation Certificate under Declaration For Inspection and testing, I only need to sign this part? Also what do i put in the space for amended to ..?....(date) except for the departures, if any detailed as follows. What date goes in that space? My exam is on the July 2012.

Many Thanks

I have the red book of IEE Wiring Regulation Seventeenth Edition.

Does that mean that this is the date I should use which is January 2008. I have started my course using this book tow years ago. I don't have the new green book.

Any help?

Many thanks

I'll bounce the question back. What version of the regulations should all new work conform to?

;)

btw. don't get hung up on the month. It is simply stating what version of the regulations the installation conforms to, i.e. what is on the cover of the regs.

The red book says "BS7671:2008".
The green book says "BS 7671:2008 incorporating Amendment No 1: 2011"

The year is all that is needed to specify the version.

What exam are you doing?

if you were testing an installation that was installed to the red book then yes, it would be 2008. However do you think it is valid to use out of date regulations?

no. you may still be using the red book, but your work has to comply with the green book. the vast majority will be the same, but where there are differences between the two, you have to go by the 2011 amended version.
