Evening all,

I have had a Metrel mi3000 for the last 6 years, a shocking colour scheme but it has served me well. Recently the testing button is dying so thinking of upgrading. Has anyone used the above mentioned testers and what are your thoughts?

I have a Metrel MI3002 and the test button is getting shaky on mine.
I was (at some point) planning to take it apart and see if the switch rubber was wearing out and if I could reinforce it somewhat.
Other than that and the non standard test lead connection I like the machine and it has served me well also.
I have not looked at the latest testers as they seem to get more and more expensive each day, I am just hoping mine will last the next 20 years!

I have a Easiplus MI3000 in amongst my varied collection, and it works fine, although i concur with Richards assessment.

I found it not as intuitively obvious,as other marques,in individual modes, but it does have cheerful livery:smartass:

Basic testing is not where an MFT's short-falls are obvious, this becomes more apparent during fault finding, where test parameters are swapped/altered,to narrow a search, and where you need to be concentrating purely on the results - not the device.

which is why i use separates for fault finding. 2 of these are analogue - you know, them olde world devices with moving needle thingies. not many faults get past a Megger BM7. :33:
