Me neither and the overpriced MK ones have very similar cable entries. 2" No.10 screws and brown plugs though - isn't that what plumbers use to fix everything from a 15mm pipe clip to a boiler ?:laugh3:

I always make sure there is a drain hole underneath as well , usually drill a 3mm hole in bottom corner ....

who uses brown plugs? i use red upto 2"10's then i bring out the m10 rawl bolts

I still a 7mm hole or 8mm in brick, get a brown plug and bang if in with a hammer for s good fix, and fix it to death with screws that are way too big. Back boxes etc are fixed the same but with two screws, I hate people who use 1" screws!

ill take great pleasure in using my boxes of 3/4" screws then lol.


what is the point in using brown plugs for boxes?

the only time ill use brown is in a last ditch attempt before bonding/glue to fix boxes

7mm. One firm I worked for insisted on supplying them. Not sure why. Red plugs and a 5.5mm drill bit with #8 screws is more sensible to me.

Inch and a half x 8, the sparkys friend. And UK Sparks, absolutely nothing wrong with 1" screws for fixing accessory boxes direct to timber for example.
