Big new build

ive been given drawings to price a rather big new build in Surrey, the walls are to dry lined , ive been told to quote for white plastic faceplates so hopefully the customer wont change there mind and want flat plate chrome or something that needs chased in boxes. The quote isnt to include any light fittings or fans, just wiring, ducting and labour. I'm not asking for you guys to price this for me but any advice or pointers in the right direction will be greatly received as i cant afford to price it 5k short which is possible on this scale.
But if anyone fancies a stab at it feel free.
i will stick my price up when i finish it , hopefully nobody else on here is putting in a price on it lol. I reckon the job will end up a ball ache but im going to take a chance.

· Awaiting kitchen design – price includes allowances for 1 hob, 1 oven, 6 appliances
· No switch lines for lighting shown on electrical layout – additional costs added for extra 2 way switching / intermediate switching

I would suggest that @Leesparkykent would be your man for advice here. I've not done anything domestic this large myself, but would reckon, at first glance that this has to be upwards of £15k, maybe significantly so.

No. all of the light fittings are yet to be specified, just labour and cable at the moment.

any of you guys know how i go about installing recessed floor up lighters in a screed floor with underfloor heating ? only ever installed them in decking. tia

on the concrete slab where they are going, lay down some membrane fix down some twin wall duct or soil stack cut to length just below finished floor level with L brackets. and run the cables in conduit/kopex to them. The floor then can be insulated and under floor laid. Before the final floor covering goes down set the uplighter sleeves in the twin wall duct/soil stack pipe and muck them in.

What have you roughly priced per point?

£60 socket , £40 per light cable and labour only, 100 per fan cable/ducting/labour only.
£50 per light switch / cat 6, more for 6 gang switches / kitchen grid
Still not sure how many circuits I will need for cu so need to cover myself on that incase it's rcbos.

I don't think you will do bad at them prices. Allow some extra on top for messing around because of the builders organisation

if the job was plain sailing how long would you gestimate it would take 3 pretty experienced guys to complete?

About 30days with 3 men. worked out on an hour and half each fitting 1st&2nd fix. 445 fittings x 1.5=667.5

667.5/8hour days=83.4. 1 man days

83.4/3men=27.8 days

Add a few days for messing around, things not being ready, waiting on material etc.

wow thats a great formula , do you use this alot? great way to check against price per point.
do you happen to know of any large split load boards on the market ? i want to avoid the rcbo route if possible.

This might sound silly, you say no light fittings etc are in the price, so if customer does not come up with the fittings or can't make their mind up.You will have to provide pendants etc at the very least.? IMO I would price for that if it's needed.

I'm sure they won't want 200 odd pendants hanging in their Surrey mansion mate, if so I can charge them extra for the pendants. Cheers

So I put a price in of £24k without any light fittings, the builder phoned me to say he wants me to do the work but it's way more than he expected, I think by the tone of his voice that he has underpriced the electrical installations in his price and now wants me to do it cheaper selling me the fact there will be follow on work after this. I don't even want the job now tbh and I'm definitely not lowering my price. He's going to get another price but I know his other guy is expensive. We shall see .........

Another option if it helps at all. Hager do a similar board but it's a mamouth 20+20. Design 30 metal clad etc

Is that dual RCD on each row or just a main switch board?
