Hi Everyone
I need a little advice please. I have bought a Coast Outdoor Led Bulkhead & PIR which states on the instructions that it can be fitted vertically and horizontally. It was fitted by the electrician horizontally, but unfortunately it appears that the PIR is looking directly down and not outward - so it is basically useless. I cannot see how to adjust it and when I've tried to contact the manufacturer but got no response. My partner is an avionics engineer so will be able to (hopefully) act on your advice.

Thanks in anticipation.

The PIR doesn't look to be adjustable in direction of detection. The lens looks like it might detect movement over e.g. 140 degrees (so +/- 70 degrees from vertical), and should trigger from someone a few metres away.

I often fit similar style bulkhead lights (but different brands) with an internal detector (no ugly lens like yours), and they work well, detecting from 5 or more metres away. If this one doesn't seem to work, perhaps return it as not fit for purpose?
