Chasing cambles in walls how deep do the chases need to be, cables are RCD protected

Chris

They don't have too be a certain depth if they are protected by an RCD. Anything that chased more than 50mm in needs too be protected by an RCD.

I'd go down about 30mm with the wall chaser, chisel it out and put the cable's in 25mm oval conduit too give it protection

I put them deep enough to allow a good depth of plaster to be spread over, otherwise you get a hump in the plastering where the cables are if they are not deep enough

As long as you can get a minimum of 4-5mm of spread over the conduit or capping it should be fine .
If the plaster is to thin it could cause cracking in the fininshed wall.
