I`ve had few other tradesmen round to look at few jobs for me and they`ve all turned up with jeans etc on as their work clothes. I`ve navy snickers trousers with navy company logo`d t-shirts with jumpers and fleeces to match.

I always think that it helps portraying good respectful image but am i only one who thinks like this?

I'm the same kinda, black snickers trousers with black company logo t-shirt etc. I don't go as far as the fleeces though.

I can see what you are getting at but you could also make the customer think that you are up market with your prices as well and that could put them off as they are not used to it. Most Ive done is company details on high viz jacket.

Just look at Pimlico Plumbers/Kensington maintenance say no more, Makes a big difference when you work in places like London. Grey snickers/T-shirts/sweat shirts/fleeces/Rain jackets all with company logo and NIC logo. I give them to all subbies and M8's that help me out. You get alot of comments by customers, best thing can claim for it at the end of the year:D

I don`t agree entirely about the thought of upmarket pricing etc although it had crossed my mind. The general view has been positive and people have commented on how professional it looks. I`ve got work ahead of other people who turned up to price work in jeans and t shirt.

I`m all for company image but would like to hear everyones thoughts for and against.

Jeans & t shirts are a no no they create the total wrong image to the customer, also jeans do not last as long as proper workwear trousers.
Company names & logos on your workwear creates the right professional image & give your customer confidence that you are professional in your trade.
They can also bring in extra work even when you have that quick pint in the pub or the quick dash to the supermarket after work on the way home!

I Think your both right, one the one hand joe bloggs who wants a cheap job won't want to pay for your t shirts, but Oliver Smyth who wants smart lighting will appreiciate the professional who has corperate identity and carries a pair of plastic overshoes in his pocket - he'll pay for it as well!

I provide all my on site staff with 2 pairs of grey snickers, blue sweatshirts and t shirts along with fleece jackets.

I am also ensuring our older vehicles are being worked out and were getting new vehicles. I.D. badges must also be worn at all times.

The day of just turning up in any old gear has gone it's all about image now. Big companies demand that and if tey don't at the moment, they will do soon so try to keep one step ahead.
