Hi,
I went to a house today to connect a new cooker up.
The old one was on a plug top.
The kitchen had all jus be fitted last week.
The cooker control switch was plastered into the wall, I managed to gt it off to see there was nothing connected o the load side...
I said ideally you need an outlet put below the surface, yes he says that's what i need. The new oven draws 7kw.
I said lets see your fuse box...
Something out the dark ages, solid green bonding.
Hmm, I said well m not putting a cable in the wall without an rcd and new bonding, I said this really all needs updating. OT was ceramic pull n and out knob fuse things.
I took a faceplate off on the lghs and sockets.
All vulcanised rubber, donkeys years old, I said there's no way I'm counting your fuse box as I'm not connecting tht up.
Might get a rewire out of it now.
