I don't think they have the Dilog one which I'm interested in. Can you guys recommend a similar one. cheers

I did look at this one but wasn't sure of the build quality which is why I asked. I've read the Dilog has similarities to the more expensive meters which is why I was looking at that. But if anyone can give a good review of the T-M one then I would go for that. Cheers

In terms of specifications yes....it was more the build quality and if anyone had any personal experience with this item, or any other tester of their recommendation. That does seem about my price range, so I suppose I should give it a go.
It's exactly the same as the Dilog.

you do realiase that a lot are made in the same factory by the same people.

the only difference being the sticker on the top

TBH.... no. That is a bit naïve of me. I didn't realise you actually meant it was like for like alike...Looks like I shall be going for this one then. Many thanks everyone.

They are the same clamp meter Scornio, they just have different names. I have bought the TM from test meter and it does the job. I have to admit though it has a cheap feel to it. I cant quite explain why though! I have also just returned it to Test Meter as it started playing up. They sent me another one for free without and questions asked.

Here is a thread on clamp meters that might be useful:

Overall I am happy with it (taking into account the price), but you have to ask yourself why is it so cheap compared to the others! Worth a go though I think (and you'll get a discount through Test Meter).

the thing is though, if it is something you will use once in a blue moon hire one.

if you end up using it more than a couple times a year it would be worth investing in a decent one.

dilog mft testers are good and that is probably where there recomendations comes from.

people say to me to get the fluke t30 etc as a voltage indicator

well

they can shove it up there arse an analog martindale or equivilent beats it hands down.

...In which case,it must have a dual scale for BOTH types of leakage

I got myself a Fluke 360 Earth Leakage Clamp Meter from PASS Limited (Sorry test meter, I do buy from you too). I paid £487.80 inc delivery.

The best bit of kit I have purchased, bloody good, very impressed. You get what you pay for.

I'm sorry but you are gonna have to explain to me why you would ever need a just shy of £500 meter to test earth leakage?!

its the cable size they go upto mate.

its gets expensive on the bigger sizes

I use it quite often, really helpful actually. Ok it's not paid for itself but I don't care, it's the smallest most expensive gadget I own.

Quality tools and test equipment costs a lot of money that's why, I only buy good stuff, no point in buying twice.
