send them a pm in here and they will be happy to help.have a word with test-meter. ( forum sponsor ).
It's exactly the same as the Dilog.
you do realiase that a lot are made in the same factory by the same people. In terms of specifications yes....it was more the build quality and if anyone had any personal experience with this item, or any other tester of their recommendation. That does seem about my price range, so I suppose I should give it a go.

the only difference being the sticker on the top
the thing is though, if it is something you will use once in a blue moon hire one. They are the same clamp meter Scornio, they just have different names. I have bought the TM from test meter and it does the job. I have to admit though it has a cheap feel to it. I cant quite explain why though! I have also just returned it to Test Meter as it started playing up. They sent me another one for free without and questions asked.
Here is thread on clamp meters that might be useful:

Overall I am happy with it (taking into account the price), but you have to ask yourself self why is it so cheap compared to the others! Worth a go though I think (and you'll get a discount through Test Meter).
TBH.... no. That is a bit naïve of me. I didn't realise you actually meant it was like for like alike...Looks like I shall be going for this one then. Many thanks everyone.
...In which case,it must have a dual scale for BOTH types of leakagethe thing is though, if it is something you will use once in a blue moon hire one.
if you end up using it more than a couple times a year it would be worth investing in a decent one.
dilog mft testers are good and that is probably where there recomendations comes from.
people say to me to get the fluke t30 etc as a voltage indicator
well
they can shove it up there arse an analog martindale or equivilent beats it hands down.
its the cable size they go upto mate.I'm sorry but you are gonna have to explain to me why you would ever need a just shy of £500 meter to test earth leakage?!

I also have one of these. I've had it for 2 or 3 years, it's been fine and I'd recommend them. I use it maybe 2 or 3 times a month, I couldn't warrant paying the price of the Fluke or a Meggar.
Eh, seeing as virtually every new installation will include some form of RCD device, and that RCD's have been called for on domestic installations for a good many years now, i can't see how any self employed working electrician can be without a earth leakage tester as part of his or her test kit.... They are invaluable for tracing earth leakage faults especially on CU's where the RCD devices are protecting several circuits!!the thing is though, if it is something you will use once in a blue moon hire one.

The TM-EL9809 is a rebadged Dilog DL6507 of which i have owned coming up for 3 years now without any problems whatsoever. These units have resolutions similar or better, to units costing 3 times that of Fluke or Megger where you are paying through the nose for an well known industry name rather than it's technical specification.
Look after any test equipment and it will generally look after you when you most need it. Leave it being ----ed around in a van and it won't last very long at all.... Common Sense really
