Haha, it's gonna look like a village people reunion in there! :D

are you just posting cack for the sake of getting your 100 posts as per another thread longboat?
Yeah, sort of.
But always wondered what other's view's on it are because of a debate myself and a tutor had on the subject a few weeks into my training.

In some cases, insulation. After all, you'd want sleeving on a bare cpc running past the live terminal screws on the back of an accessory wouldn't you?

Otherwise, it would be acceptable to just put an inch of sleeving on to provide core identification, like you would with sleeving a blue core with brown.

Are you on the front bench before the horseshoe?
I've got to watch this!!!
Rip em up D!!!!!!!

Yeah, I'll be on the panel for one hour with four other sparks presenting evidence to the committee. Behind me will be representatives from Napit, The ECA, Certsure and the ESC. After our time is done, the four stooges have to answer questions from the committee with us five sat behind them.

the CPC is a form of double insulation...is it not

Should be an interesting experience if nothing else.

Tell me about it. I ain't gonna lie, I'll be pooing myself slightly! I've spent hours making notes and practising speaking for more than a few seconds without swearing! I really hope we come across well and that we make good, clear and consise points. Unfortunately I fear there won't be enough time to bring to light the myriad of issues surrounding the current situation, but hopefully we can address some of the more important ones.

I would say identification only as the sleaving gives no form of protection as is only thin and flimsy.it would be nice if twin and earth had the earth sheathed as you would not need to sleeve it, I know it's all money and size etc, would be nice though.

That's what flex is for! :)

Love installing flex for fixed wiring applications! :D

If you feel a bit shaky and intimidated just have a good long stare at one of them and imagine him stark ------- naked.

They are nothing without their fine suits.

As far as i'm aware, the green/yellow sleeving still needs to meet a BS. Or it did, when it was the solid green sleeving...

you dont want it sleaved as part of a flat twin....the CPC runs between the live conductors yes...

so will intercept any breakdown in insulation between live conductors yes...

this is the reason the CPC in twin isn`t sleaved/insulated....

not for cost reasons...as was debated a while back in here...

Flex is nice but then you need to add little fiddle ferrules into the ends, admittedly I find it quite satisfying adding the ends on, weird I know, just think it looks tidy other than serving a good purpose!

Valid point, it would be handy all the same to abe it slaved, but you are quite right.

We only use tri rated in control cabs, I know what you mean, crimping the ferrules is the most satisfying part!
