Can someone point me to information on feed in tariffs if you dont meet the D standard, is there a sliding scale or what happens?
Thanks

You will get 6.85p per kWh, so if you can get to a D without paying through the nose then it is worth it. If not, it's a figures game to see whether the number stack up, it may be if you are using a lot of electricity during the day.

Thanks for that. I did the Energy Saving Trust questionnaire but there questions were oversimplified so I gave the worst case scenario and came in at E. It all seems a little arbitrary though and what might be just in D for one assessment could be top of E for another? Who makes the assessment?

I think my posts are being moderated so I have replied with thanks to replies 1&2. As for reply 3...surely then your installer is going to make sure the solar gets you into the D band or you wont be buying?

Sorry about that, new members posts are automatically moderated until they've made ten posts. It's an anti spam measure that's a little annoying but unfortunately necessary.

The EPC tells you the results, you may currently be an E but it shows on the report what you could get with Solar PV etc, or some other improvements.

So the answer is you should know in advance wether you can achieve the results desired

Yes, I am perfectly OK with that, I just wanted to let the members who had respobded know I was still about.

Thank you all
