Hi, I just purchased my first home and the back porch doesn't have a light (realtor thought that contingency would be a deal breaker). I have spent, literally hours searching the internet on how to do this. Apparently I'm not asking the right question.

I need a porch light and inside switch, how do I accomplish this? I know I need power, cut holes, run wire. I also may just call an electrician for a job quote (I'm laughing as I type it, knowing it would be hundreds of $)

Anywho.....advice would be greatly appreciated

Where are you situated Jess?

USA., must be. over here a sensible charge to do this would be <£100 unless there were unforseen problems.

I want an actual porch light and inside switch.......called an electrician....total asshat....."don't know what to tell you.....$100hr + supplies".....
Don’t pay him $ 100.00 per hour, pay him by the job. It’s really a simple job and all you have to do is drill 2 holes with one being for the light and the other on to get existing power to your extra light. I could do that job for $ 120.00 for the whole job
