Hi All,

Hope someone can help me. I'm replacing the heating element in my electric oven but as you can see from the pic I need to remove the fan so I can get to the top screw/attachment for the element. I've removed the central nut clockwise but there seems to be some sort of lock nut or something underneath it. I've given the fan a good tug but to no avail! Any tips on how to remove it?

Thanks

Are you sure the element is actually at fault here? It doesn’t look pitted, or cracked at all.

The elements should be replaceable without taking the oven out the cabinet, or taking the back off the oven itself.
It should be able to be replaced without removing the fan at all.

What about those other 3 screws I see? If they are removed, does the fan and motor drop enough to access the hidden screw?
If not, they might need the back taken off to replace those screws into whatever they’re holding.

Sometimes YouTube has videos for these jobs, just search on YouTube for your make and model number.

Siemens HB90355GB/05 Oven Fan Removal for Element Replacement

Fan removal difficulty and stuck screws hinder element replacement in this oven model.
To remove the fan on the Siemens HB90355GB/05, first ensure power is off. After removing the fan cover and the clockwise screw, the fan may be stuck due to corrosion or tight fitting on the motor shaft. Gently wiggle the fan while pulling it straight off; avoid twisting to prevent damage. If stuck, apply a penetrating lubricant sparingly around the shaft base. Once removed, access the third screw securing the half-moon heating element. Regular cleaning prevents corrosion buildup, easing future maintenance.

Hi, Appreciate your replies and your research for me. Many thanks. Mike

I don't suppose that there is a 'notch' cut out of the fan at any point around its' circumference is there?

Thanks, I'll give it a go.

If the fan is not ultra close to the back panel, and you can tolerate faffing around with this, you might be able to at least slacken the screw with a slimline ratchet screwdriver (e.g.below), bend/hack the old bracket off leaving the screw loosely in place, slot the bracket of the new element, slide it in place and tighten the screw! 🤔
Or not!
