Took your advice Teletrex and bought the 1553, Paid 370 but it had couple of extras so Im happy with the price. Came with software for PC, but I was hoping to use my android phone to at least gather the results even if I then have to transfer to main PC when Im back at the office. Was hoping you could give a little guidance on how I go about doing that. Or am I wishing for something it cant do?
Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers

can't help with the downloading side. i just rough out my readings on old pre amd.2 tests sheets, then re-enter on current style forms at home on pc.

The problem with the MFT's that can upload the results (I've a Megger 1730), they want you to use their stupid software. My MFT also stores the test results, but I can't be arsed how to work that out, although I'm sure its quite easy really. No, I 'store' all my test results in a desk diary, for later 'upload' to PC. Don't use spare test sheets, after rather embarrassingly, I shredded some before transferring the data. Plus, I'm hoping if I lose me diary, someone might take pity on me and ring me on the mobile on the inside cover.

The Bluetooth upload on the MFT 1553 requires you to send it after each test (as far as I could ever work out), and then transfer it to the Megger PowerSuite software. I don't think you can store a batch of results and upload it. I have the MFT 1553 and the PowerSuite software and haven't found a way to do that.

All this Bluetooth stuff??? I used to just right the results down on a scrap bit of paper/cardboard, then type them on a cert back at my house with a a nice brew.
