Hello I'm Luke, I'm 23, and I'm probably going to bore you with the usual story of a young person struggling to become an electrician, but here goes :)

I decided I wanted to become a sparky two years ago. I started out as a Labourer at 18 and eventually got on the tools in Dry-Lining and Shop-Fitting companies for 2 years. I decided to quit being a fixer because it was too easy and not challenging anymore. I went back to college at 21 and studied Electrical Engineering Level 2 and the year after I did Level 3. I must have applied for at least 100 jobs/apprenticeships, even ones in London as I'm willing to relocate, but they've not resulted to anything. Do I give up or go back to a job I hate?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Luke.

Hi mate,

Stick to dry lining as they seem to make more money and finish earlier than rest of us. Also to the post above, South Yorkshire is the better part and they speak weird in West Yorks :)
