can't you tell i'm bored. and why do we have 10A light switches on 1 light when the whole circuit is on a 6A breaker.

So the accesories have nothing to do with it as long as we protect the cable in question. i had a lighting circuit the other day on 16 amp (normally bells starts to ring)Ref Method E Checkrd RegsMCB ok someone validated my cert. told me that should of failed because the light switch was only rated at 10amps

well then, "someone" is wrong. the MCB rating is selected to protect the cable. the light switch rating is selected to handle the load of the device it switches.

Was it protecting 2.5mm by any chance?

Fare point, 1.5mm method E is up to 22A. Because its in cable tray it could be a long run and increased csa for volt drop.
