Living Room MCB breaker tripping

Hi,

The breaker for my living room has been tripping since Sunday.

I have physically checked all the wiring in the sockets and they all seemed fine.

I then checked them all with a socket tester and the read was fine.

I have used all of the appliances on a different circuit and they are all fine.

I have replaced the breaker with a new one and after 6 hours it tripped again.

Any suggestions?

You need an electrician with the appropriate equipment to come round and carry out and inspection and test on that circuit.

Really dont think you should be going around poking in the consumer unit, especially if you have intermittent faults, best advice is call an electrician like others have said

I saw that, my instinct says it will be one of a)shower/cooker circuit with rcd enclosure b)second CU either way very poor job.

As you have no RCD protection to the circuits very high fault currents are involved for an MCB to trip. This represents a real danger of fire or electric shock if you continue to experiment with resetting the device. The services of an electrician are essential to investigate the cause.
