Hi everyone,

I am currently living in HK. I am going to apply the working visa next year and would like to become an electrician in UK (probably living in Manchester). I have no related experiences and skills in this field. As I did some researches, I would like to seek advice about how to become an electrician in UK.

1) I planned to study C&G 2365 Course Level 2 & 3 first as it seems this is the required qualification for many electrician work found in the job seeker websites. (Apprenticeship is not work for me as it cannot sustain my living)

The link of 2365 Course Level 2 & 3

2) What is the work opportunities in Manchester. Is it easy to find a job? (Sorry, I can't find much information about this)

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

p.s.
- my English is not good enough and will try to improve:cry:

2365 level 2 then 3 is your only option to become qualified. following on from that is AM2 and NVQ3. very hard to get a job in the trade at the moment, but you could possibly do level2 evenings and any sort of day job to survive. once on level 3 you should be seeking employment as an electrician's mate to get practical experience.

Thanks mate. I will take your advice into consideration. I understand that it is hard to get a job in this industry at this moment due to the pandemic. But is it easy find a job under the normal circumstances?

Thanks again.

can't say it's easy, but there are openings. in th e UK we have employment agencies where you work for the agency and they hire you out to their clients. it's an option as a starter, but they do take a slice of your earnings for "admin". as for your English. if your spoken English is as good as your written English, you won't have problems there.

Thanks for your sincere reply and encouragement here. So many dissenting voices in HK. But I will try my best to put this plan into reality and make contribution in UK.
