HI all

Im having a new bathroom installed soon and the surveyor said my gas is not bonded? This was after looking at my gas meter. He said I need a 10mm cable to earth gas........UH???

The electric meter is at the side of gas box.......does he mean to bond them together?

Sorry if I sound dumb.

The bathroom has no electrics being done so he said it wasnt a problem but it really should be done??

if the gas meter is close by the electric supply, then it's no big deal about a £40 call-out to do it.

Just so as you understand why......Metallic services buried in the ground and entering the property are effectively bringing in the zero volts potential of the earth outside. This creates a shock hazard in the event of an electrical fault within your house. By 'bonding' these services to the electrical earthing system in the house this risk is reduced, hence it's importance.
