Evening

currently employed by large firm working in social housing.

Got Nvq3, 2395 (havnt done a seperate 17th exam? -but trained to 17th?)

I am looking to do a bit of my own private work on weekends- nothing major- few eicr's and the remidials that come with it.

What else do I really need?

i am thinking niceic- but domestic installer or competent person scheme?

Will i need any thing else before doing private work by the book?

cheers guys

PL ins, notify HMRC, business cards,

& check your employment contract toi check that doing PW isn't a breach of contract

You don't neccarsarialy need to be part of a scheme however if work came under part p then you would have to notify your local building control. You should have Public liability insurance. Tools, test equipment, experience and knowledge also go a long way but not vital:6:

Also what vehicle will you be using, if it's a firms van they may not like it, and if it's your own private car make sure it is insured for business use. It may seem silly but if you get stopped by police I have known a mate get 6 points for not being correctly covered
