Hi guys a man has told me he is putting in a new kitchen and instead of the orginal cooker supply is he want a single oven in a different postion in the kitchen but is keeping hob in the same place.. so obviously i know i can keep the supply thats already there for the hob but i am wondering what sort of supply i would need for the single oven?? if use catch my drift. prob not the best instructions

We need more info on this one. What is the combined power rating of the two? It may be possible to use the same supply for both if that is practicable. If the oven is a low enough rating, is it easy enough to run a seperate circuit? It's sort of one of those questions you need to answer by seeing it yourself.

see i haven't received any info was just asked to "run a cable for the oven" i cant imagine it being too high as he told me it's only a "single oven".. well the postion of the new oven is more less under were the board is mounted.. if the single oven wasnt a massive rating what sort of cable would you run from the board and what way would you leave it (sfc socket) say under the cupboards like say the way some dishwashers are wired?

Some stand alone ovens come with a plug top fitted, nice and easy thank you very much, others are over 3KW and need their own dedicated supply with their own MCB and 6mm feed. More details needed.

well if it is only one of them nice and easy ovens do u just plug into the kitchen ring or would u wire it separately as a radial circuit? i no u guys need more detail on power ratings and that but because i have no manu instructions i cannot give any, but i do appreciate the help guys and the replies are making sense to me

How can you run a cable in without knowing how much power the circuit will be pulling you need to know the exact amp that the oven will be pulling before asking what size cable, by the sound of it pal your are not competent to be doing this work so maybe call in a spark and get him to do it for you as kitchens are notifiable to local building control and putting a new circuit in will need a EIC which means the circuit will need testing so just call a spark

Why are you putting the oven under the fuse board?

Parallel supply through a contactor, fused down at the oven end, if your going by 17th regs

And as Dave said 25 mm cable minimum to handle that
