Discuss Passed my 17th edition today!! Thanks for the advice whooooo oooohhhh! in the Electrician Courses : Electrical Quals area at ElectriciansForums.net

hi there

well done i sat mine in 2008 and have just done an update course today it quite amazing in three years what they have added and changed ah well good bye to 70 quid for another new regs book lol

cheers maddfridge

Ive got mine in a few days..... have u got any tips ....

sorry i havent got back any sooner but just in case you havent done it yet all i can advise is get to grips with what information you can find where in the book, get some tabs and use them for quick reference, on average you have 2 minutes per question, all of the answers are there it all comes down to how fast you can find the answer, some of the questions you will know and can answer straight away, some of the answers you will have to dig deep for, pay particular attention to caravan parks and marinas ect, you will get the odd question on them and a lot can be found in the definitions section at the fron of the book, good luck x

aint that the truth... u can always ask to work for free lol :/ but then again thats not really all that practical now is it? Are you qualified enough to go self employed?

I have mine on the 16th December (C&G 2382-12), only got told last week I am doing the newer qual, so £50 gone straight away on new regs book. We are not allowed to take a tabbed book in the exam, or any post it notes in the book either. Have been told they will get taken out if they are inside. I have been going through the book most evenings and done a couple of pass papers, feeling optimistic so far. Any tips or advice would be great.
Thanks
Ian

Ebow, as long as you can read you'll be fine. Just make sure you understand the question before you answer as sometimes the questions are a bit ambiguous.

Just out of interest
Marie-Claire or anyone else, how long did you have to wait for your results? I have my exam on the 16th December at my local college, day it shuts and wondered how long you had to wait?

It's open the following Monday, but I've been told I have to wait 2 weeks?
Thanks
Ian
Bye the way Marie Claire, well done....glad you passed.....

They tell you there and then if you've passed - or at least my lot did. TOP TIP - ask for a print off "bar chart" type thing if you can which gives the actual percentages for each section. When the 17th cert comes thru the post it just says "PASS" on it - you don't get the bar chart one. I got my bar chart one and its nice to keep.
