Can anyone recommend a good PLC course, preferably around the East Midlands area.

Moved here and the majority of work requires PLC which i do not have.

Have heard that Siemans do a good one BUT i do not know.

Thanks in advance.

Local colleges sometimes run good foundation course and general PLC programming. Binary octal hex sub routine and other basic functions or are you looking more advanced on different manufactures?

a lot of the programs are now coded/written in C/C++ , the manufacturers only really train you if you work for them but all colleges doing Electronics will do nightclasses on PLC'S and give out an HN (Higher national) Unit in them, will cost about £150.00 to do a nightclass for 3 hours or so once a week for 3 months, and they will get you to tinker about with programs on your home computer, they will also provide you with access to the labs during the daytime when they are between use by different classes and you can sit in quietly on classes during the day with the full time students...you will get a student ID photocard, which means you can visit the students union bar and get student discounts in different places as they will see you as a mature student...:26:
