Hi all

Have a question which is baffling me, or maybe i am not aware of something obvious.
I have a customer who has knocked down his old proprty and is building a new one. Cut all flannel of drawings etc, but EDF have installed, in a waterproof box, a BS1361 Main cutout, I think on PME, whilst another meter company is installing the meter. Here is the question?
The meter company are asking my customer for me to put in a small RCD protected cu with one socket for use of mixers etc. Fine by me, except they are asking me for a SAFETY CERTIFICATE? I cannot test the RCD for timed values or earth loop impedance values as the system is still dead, as these are the important ones. Giving them dead test results, IR, R1, R2 etc will not tell them the cu installation is safe!!
I have had this problem before with supply companies, and nothing got resolved.
Is there a certificate available for this? What are my options?
Thanks for listening.

Just do an eic with limitation that says "dead tests carried out only"
Then you are covered

Done that mate, they dont seem to know the answer to that either.
I am leaning to the EIC with limitations, alot of limitations. Why on earth can the suppliers leave us the isolating switch and let us wire into them I dont know. Here an idea, let us sparks have the ability to lockwire the isolators when we have done our bit, then everyone is happy. Put them out of a job probably!

EIC with LIMS...

did it before for SSE..... / NEDL they just want to have some one to blame at end of day!

We carry out dead tests in order to make sure the system is safe prior to energising and doing live tests!
I don't agree what you have put.
