Hi all
I am fitting a oven with a separate electric hob
Oven is 3400w so going to use 10m of 3mm twin and earth on a 16a mcb
Electric hob is 6500 so 10m of 6mm on a 32 amp mcb
Question is do i have to fit 2 cooker out lets and 2 dp switches or can i run both oven and hob into 1 cooker outlet and 1 dp switch
Obviously i will have to up the cable and the mcb
So 10m of 10mm twin and earth on a 50a mcb
So what does yous think
Thanks

Providing both units are rated between 15 and 50 amps and within 2 mtrs of switch you can use one

Chris

So that a yes then nice 1

so from the above
6500w/230 =28.2 so 30a
3400/230 =14.7 so so 16a
so with diversity and just to be on the safe side a 45a mcb on 10mm cable will be fine?

Should be fine, 10mm cable can take over 60amps as long as it is not seriously derated by its installation method ie thru insulation.
