Hi there, I have pass the 2394-2395 exam this week and I want to start to sign my own comercial work.
Can I issue EIC and EICR before join in an electrical scheme?.
What insurance do you recommend for me?
Thank you very much.

You can complete electrical installation certificates and Electrical installation condition reports.

The completion of these certificates is a requirement of the wiring regulations and is not associated with any electrical scheme (except in the minds of the scheme providers).

Building regulations compliance /completion certificates for domestic work issued by building control (nominally) are the subject of self certification schemes by providing a cheaper way to notify work (where required).

Insurance for electrical work would normally be public liability insurance; insurance to cover you for your professional opinion when issuing EICRs might require professional indemnity insurance as well.
