Hi getting sky installed on Saturday and I am wanting to have sky in the main bedroom and also free view in a second bedroom for a child

If I run a satellite cable from the rf out on the sky+hd box into the loft and use a amp and then run a satellite cable down to the main bedroom wire a magic eye to that tv.

Using f screw connectors is that right?

How can I then run the aerial cable, should I run this straight into the loft and then down to the amp?

Do any Amps have two inputs available one for the sky and one for free view?

Not into aerials, sky etc but wanting to learn

Cheers guys

Run your aerial to the sky HD box, then connect rf1 to the TV . Install a coax cable from RF2 to the loft and connect to a distribution amp. Global F140 do not require power as they are powered by the sky receiver. You will need to turn the 9 v on rf2. This done via the install menu on the sky receiver. You can also do it in HD over cat5e cables as well

As far as I'm aware I'm getting a normal sky plus hd box, I still have my aerial fitted and cable down to living room
I was going to pull this up to a amp and then take the cable down to the second bedroom

Can you get a amp which allows you to have a sat input and a aerial input that way?

Cheers

I wouldn't bother moving the existing aerial to the loft you are just making work for yourself, as long as its plugged into your sky box will get the free digital tv signal from the aerial up to the booster and then to the bedrooms.

Yes, if you connect it as described you will get freeview and what's on the receiver at all your TV points via the amp
1. TV aerial to sky box
2. Coax cable link out of rf2 on sky box to amp in loft
3. Coax cable to bedrooms
